Perched on the edge of the Indian Ocean the WA Maritime Museum is symbolic of Fremantle’s past present and future as a coastal city and port. See the significant historic objects and vessels that highlight WA’s sporting sailing and adventure heritage including the America’s Cup winning yacht Australia II and Jon Sanders’ Parry Endeavour. Next door is the hugely popular Oberon-class submarine HMAS Ovens where you can learn how sailors lived and worked beneath the surface.

A free companion card ticket can be booked online or purchased in-person at entry. A valid companion card must be shown upon entry to the Museum.
The WA Maritime Museum is fully accessible excluding tours aboard the HMAS Ovens. There are ramps and lifts available for Museum entry and unisex accessible toilets on both levels. There are three ACROD bays available in a nearby paid Wlson’s car park. A range of resources including visual and audio supports are available.
HMAS Ovens tours are not wheelchair accessible and require navigating stairs and ladders. No toilet facilities are available. They are suitable for visitors comfortable with confined spaces and heights. Detailed information on accessibility and available amenities are available from the website.
