ANZAC Cottage (National Trust Of WA)

Both home and Gallipoli memorial this small Mount Hawthorn cottage holds a special place for the local community and beyond. Take a tour and chat with our friendly volunteer guides to learn more about the history behind the ‘house that was built in a day’.

ANZAC Cottage was built in one day 12 February 1916 by the community of Mount Hawthorn as a home for returned soldier Private Porter and his family and as a memorial for those who lost their lives in the tragic Gallipoli landing.
ANZAC Cottage is only open for pre-booked guided tours so please register to avoid disappointment.
