The Museum of the Great Southern overlooks picturesque Mamang Koort / Princess Royal Harbour on the site of the first European permanent settlement in Western Australia (1826). Here you will find permanent and travelling exhibitions a replica of the Brig Amity pop-up artworks public and educational programs and information on the natural and social history of the region.

General Admission entry is free. For special exhibitions and events a free companion card ticket can be booked online or purchased in-person at entry. A valid companion card must be shown with ticket.
The Museum of the Great Southern is mostly accessible. All galleries have level flooring. Level 2 of the Eclipse building is accessible via stairs or a staff-operated platform lift—ask at reception for assistance. The Brig Amity’s main deck has ramp access. Entry into the vessel requires use of a narrow ladder. Toilets in the Residency Building are not universally accessible; staff can assist with access to larger facilities within the administration area if required.
