The Heritage-listed Bijou Theatre (est. 1896) is the oldest-surviving wood and iron theatre in Australia. It is owned and operated by the Esperance Theatre Guild an amateur community theatre company. This enthusiastic and vibrant team of volunteers and performers entertain Esperance theatre-goers with comedies musicals and pantomimes held 2-3 times per year. Guided tours of the historic Bijou Theatre are available on request. Discover the public and private areas of the building and get a unique insight into the history of Australian theatre.
